Failed Compromise Negotiations -1995

In September 1995, the claimants entered into a USD 100 million compromise agreement with the Marcos family. The Philippine government agreed to allow release of USD 50 million from the PNB Escrow Account with Imelda Marcos producing the other USD 50 million in exchange for an agreement to desist from further civil and criminal prosecution of the Marcoses and the dropping of the Hawaii suit.
